Prague, June 27 2009, 17.00 – The Women's Lacrosse World Cup that took place in Prague has reached it's end by today's medal games. Canada beat England 14:9 and won the bronze medals. USA triumphed over Australia 8:7 in the dramatic final.
Canadians created a key advantage in early stages of the match against England and won the first half easily 9:1. The second half was fully controlled by the Maple Leafs players and won the bronze medals after a victory over England 14:9. First half of the final match was quite even on both sides and even the score board showed 3:3 at the halftime. The team USA went to big lead 8:4 soon after the break, when Caroline Cryer completed her hattrick. Australians managed to lower their lead to a one-goal game in an impressive ending of the game, but were unable to do more. USA won the Championship after they defeated the defending champions from Australia in an epic battle.
